How This Powerful Mind Skill Helps To Easily Overcome Problems
The art of asking powerful questions
Have you ever found yourself stuck in a problem, unable to find the right solution? With this powerful mind skill you can prevent yourself from becoming frustrated or deflated. This skill is to develop the art of asking better questions. Questions that help us build curiosity and guide our minds towards new options.
Curiosity is an essential ingredient for developing this powerful mind skill
The word curiosity is a strong desire to learn or know something, important in finding new solutions. Curiosity is like an investigative journalist who finds the truth by asking questions, looking at different viewpoints, and being open to learning new things.
Being curious can help individuals and organisations better understand their customers, competitors, and industry. Moreover, this leads to an expansion of innovative solutions which foster better results. Research conducted at Harvard University found that having an attitude of curiosity in the workplace builds perseverance, trust and increases energy.
“To ask the right question is already half the solution of a problem.” Carl Jung
Being curious and asking great questions is a brilliant way to develop a mindset for success.
Additionally, curiosity can greatly influence your cognitive processes.
As Einstein famously said:
“Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”
By asking ourselves questions and reflecting on our thoughts, we can establish a powerful mind skill.
Here are ten questions that will help you when you are stuck, need clarity or want to move through a problem.
Does this actually matter, or could I let it go?
What is the solution that I can’t see because I am so stuck in the problem?
What am I tolerating in this situation?
What would happen if I chose to no longer tolerate this?
What is the opposite of this challenge/problem? What is one step I can take to move towards it?
What will happen if I solve this?
What won’t happen if I don’t solve this?
Am I really doing my job here or just pretending?
What is preventing me from making a decision?
Am I operating from a level of habitual feeling or the future result I want?
Add the art of questions to your list of powerful mind skills to develop. And, of course, make it a habit that becomes part of your plan for greater success. I would love to hear from you as to what question is helpful right now, and what questions you use?
